Announcing NORR COHAN

As part of a carefully planned leadership transition, Partner David Norr has assumed sole ownership and leadership of the gallery. Coinciding with the gallery’s new chapter, James Cohan Gallery becomes NORR COHAN, a name that both reflects its legacy and marks its evolution.

Since joining in 2015, David has played a central role in shaping the gallery's program, strengthening relationships with artists and institutions, and guiding its strategic direction in partnership with James and Jane Cohan. James will continue to work with gallery artists and collectors alongside David, ensuring ongoing continuity.

While our name has changed, the gallery’s guiding principles remain the same. Since its founding in 1999, the gallery has been committed to supporting artists through sustained partnership, ambitious programming, and long-term advocacy.

We are deeply grateful to the artists, collectors, institutions, and broader community who have shaped the gallery over the past twenty-five years. We look forward to continuing this work together as NORR COHAN.
